Documentation Required for Schengen Visa From India

The following are the documents that are required for a short term Schengen visa application:

  • Visa application form. Fully completed and signed.
  • Two recently taken photos taken within the last 3 months as per the photo requirements.
  • Passport not older than 10 years and have a validity date of more than a minimum of 3 months beyond the date planned for departure.
  • Round Trip Itenary for flights and the dates specifying the entry and exit from the Schengen area and the hotel reservations.
  • Travel Insurance Policy with a minimum coverage of 30,000 euros in case of any medical emergency as illnesses, accidents and even repatriation in case of death.
  • Proof of accommodation. in the form of a document that shows where you shall be staying during your trip in Schengen. This could be Hotel or a Hostel Booking, A rental Agreement or a letter of invitation from the host where you shall be residing. or A letter of invitation from a host at whose house you shall be staying.
    Financial Support Systems such as Bank Statement no older than 3 months or a Sponsorship letter by a person who confirms that they shall be supporting the trip. The letter shall be accompanied by the sponsor’s bank statement of the sponsor, no older than three months, or a combination of your bank account statement and a letter of sponsorship.
  • Proof of paid visa fee. €60 for adults and €35 for children from 6 to 12 years old.

5 Steps to Apply for Schengen Visa from India
