The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), in the year 2019 granted 3,161 Australia Award Scholarships to candidates from developing nations from nations in Asia(15), Pacific(13), Africa(11) and Middle East(1)

iii)Australia Awards Short Courses
The duration of the courses are usually 3 months or under which are covered under these awards. These courses need to be pursued from an approved Australian higher education provider or an Australian Registered Training Organisation in Australia and/or in partner countries.

a)University of Western Australia
The UWA International Achievement Scholarship
The UWA International Achievement Scholarship was introduced on 5 December 2018. South and South-East Asian students who are keen to pursue specified courses in the areas of Commerce, Engineering, Computer Science and Data Science are eligible to apply. The scholarship consists of $30,000 towards the student’s tuition fees.
i)Deakin India 10% Bursary
Deakin University is offering a 10% bursary to the Indian students towards their University tuition Fees.a waiver of 10% of the total tuition fees on the offer letter. The duration of the scholarship is for the entire course. In order to be eligible for the waiver the candidate should meet the following eligibility requirements:
a) Indian National with a valid Indian Passport.
b) Candidate should be residing in India with a valid Indian Passport.
c) Apply through authorized Deakin Agent in India
d) Academic score of 55-59.9% in the undergraduate degree.
ii) ClareHopkinsClarke Architects Academic Merit Scholarship
The scholarship is offered to the first year of Master of Architecture or Master of Architecture (Design Management) in 2019. The scholarship carries a benefit of Benefits of a Cash payment of up to $5000 per year for two years
The maximum total value of this scholarship is $10 000. In order to be eligible for the above scholarship, the candidate should satisfy the following Eligibility:
a)The candidate needs to be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, holder of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa or an International student
b)Enrolled in the Master of Architecture or Master of Architecture (Design Management) in Trimester 1, 2020
c)Bachelor of Design (Architecture) or Bachelor of Design (Architecture)/Bachelor of Construction Management at Deakin University in 2019 and achieved a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least 70
The shortlisted candidates shall have to appear for a mandatory interview as a part of the selection process.
iii)Deakin University’s Doctoral Scholarship.
Deakin University also offers scholarships to students pursuing doctoral courses. High Degree by Research (HDR) scholarships are awarded in subjects from economics and physical and mental health to molecular research and citizenship and globalisation
c)Australian Catholic University
Australian Catholic University Emergency Nursing Advocacy Bursary
The scholarship at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne is aimed at supporting socially and economically underprivileged students keen to be a part of the nursing profession. The bursary provides the student with support during the study at the ACU followed by a graduate year at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. In order to be eligible for the bursary, the prospective students should satisfy the following requirements:
i) Domestic and International students with a Temporary Protection visa (TPV) or a Safe Haven Enterprise visa (SHEV) or asylum seekers on a Bridging visa A (BVA) or E (BE)
ii)Should have a background in Health Sciences
iii)Course: Undergraduate Nursing or Midwifery degree
v)The candidate could be in any year of an academic career.
The Murdoch University Academic Excellence Awards (MUAEA’s) seek to acknowledge the students with high achievement record. The minimum percentage required in the previous degree/diploma/board in both the undergraduate and postgraduate degree is 75% respectively.
An average grade of 75% (or equivalent depending on the grading system) or higher in the last course prior to applying to a Murdoch University Undergraduate degree. The number of awards is 35
An average grade of 75% or higher or equivalent GPA in the Bachelor degree course prior to applying to a Murdoch University Graduate Diploma or Masters by Coursework degree. Postgraduate scholarships are 12 in number.
The value of the scholarship is $5000 and there are eligibility conditions that the candidates need to fulfil
I)Be an International Student;
II)Commencement of the First Semester at Murdoch University;
iii)Should have an offer letter from Murdoch University;
iv)Have achieved an academic record of 75% or higher in your previous study;
v) Enrollment in a full-time, academic program at Murdoch University for the entire duration.
e)Charles Sturt Foundation Scholarships
These Australian scholarships are open to all the international students who are commencing/continuing an undergraduate programme. The value of the scholarships varies from $1000-$10,000 and is awarded to students who have demonstrated great academic scores, Community/Regional participation and having higher career objectives and aspirations. The candidates should understand that in order to be considered for any scholarship, one should have a great academic score. Also, great references and participation in extracurricular or philanthropic activities put the candidates in great standing.
